Welcome to Mararoa Cottage, cosy self-contained accommodation in a beautiful rural setting near Te Anau, gateway to Fiordland National Park. Mararoa Cottage is completely private with its own small garden and gorgeous views of the Mararoa River and Takitimu Mountains. Should you need anything, our home is just next door. Lake Manapouri and the small Manapouri township are a ten minute drive down the road. Lake Te Anau and Te Anau township, with its shopping centre, cinema and several restaurants are less than twenty minutes away. Fiordland National Park can be accessed from both. We have lived in Fiordland for 17 years and have a good knowledge of the area. Paul works as a skipper in Doubtful Sound for the tourist company Real Journeys while I make and market a nature-themed children's board game called Button Up in Fiordland and run Mararoa Cottage. Our ten-year-old daughter attends a small country school and is responsible for looking after our five chickens, three sheep and friendly mongrel dog.
